Wilson Reading System® Level 1 Scholarships Available for Fall 2026 Cohort
The Herschend School of Education is now accepting applications for the Wilson Reading System® Level 1 Scholarship, funded through partnership with a generous donor. We will be able to award 10 scholarships of $2,500 each for professionals enrolling in the Fall 2026 cohort.
Eligibility Requirements
Must be a licensed K-12 teacher within the U.S.
Preference given to teachers working with and committed to underserved populations or who work in high-need schools/districts.

Program Details
The Level 1 Certification requires 3 courses:
- EDU695 Introduction to Multisensory Structured Language Instruction with the Wilson Reading System® (1 graduate credit)
- EDU696 Intensive Instruction for the Non-Responsive Reader (6 graduate credits)
- EDU697 Clinical Intensive Instruction for the Non-Responsive Reader Practicum using the Wilson Reading System® (3 graduate credits)
EDU695 is the equivalent of the Introductory Workshop. If you have taken that workshop within the last 5 years, EDU 695 would be waived.
EDU696 and EDU697 are taken simultaneously, starting with a Zoom class meeting on September 9. The courses are year-long courses, with the intent of practicum completion by the end of the school year when possible.
